Well Repair

Each year there are urgent requests that come in for un-planned well repairs that are received at the end of our season. We work to prioritize the requests and address as many additional wells as possible. These repairs save lives, and time, and joy for our friends in Zambia.

How You Can Help

During the year we have over 300 requests but can only execute 75-100 well repairs. To be put simply we can’t afford to do more. With your help, we can increase that number repaired per year.

Each well costs $1,000 to repair. Any amount you are able to donate is greatly appreciated!

FAQ

  • We approach well rehabilitation with excellence to make sure that we bring it to a condition where its like new again. We put in all new spares and remove the old worn-out parts. We don't mix old and new spares in a well, we recognize old, worn out spares and replace them with new ones.

    Because of this villages are left with a well that will provide clean water for them for many years!

  • While planning and strategy can take days to weeks, a typical repair takes Its usually 3 to 5 hours. Even still , our Well Repair Team treats each well as a special case.
